Perfect place for a two year old who has just read the Gruffalo
Great museum and cafe. Gruffalo trail is lovely - fantastic chainsaw carvings. Quite pricey and discounts for concessions don't amount to much. Shop filled with locally made gifts.
Great source of local history. Loved the miners cottage. Definitely go back again.
Had a brilliant day out. Lots to see and interact with. To much to do in one visit. Great gruffalo trail. More needs to be done to point people to the wood carving to. Would have liked to have seen more about the forest heritage about the mining and brick making.
Very broad range of activities for all ages. Lots to do and see, with plenty of changes at regular intervals to make it worth a revisit.Set on a nice, compact site that can get busy in the holidays, especially summer and Easter. Go early or late. For real youngsters, the path the playpark and Gruffalo trail is not great for pushchairs, especially in the wet.But a great visit.
